The Korean Center Center Los Angeles

I am excited to share with you about my upcoming exhibition at The Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles, Ca. This exhibition is sponsored by the Republic of Korea, and it is my first show with any government. I have traveled to South Korea a few times, and my first visit in 2017 was for an invitation to paint a mural at the Coex Exhibition center in Seoul. Since then, my artwork has been showcased at art fairs in Busan and group shows in Seoul.

During my travels to South Korea, I had the opportunity to explore the country's rich culture, history, and art. My journey began in the bustling capital city of Seoul, where I visited a traditional Korean tea house. It was nestled in a quiet alleyway, surrounded by a beautiful garden, and had an elegant minimalist décor with low tables and cushions for sitting. The tea master warmly welcomed me and guided me through the process of preparing and serving the tea. I enjoyed several different varieties of tea, each with its unique flavor and aroma, and learned how tea is an essential part of Korean culture, used for both relaxation and socializing.

I also explored some of Seoul's historic sites, such as the Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Namsan Tower, which offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city. I tried the local cuisine, including savory kimchi and delicious bibimbap, at different restaurants, and street vendors. Each dish had its unique twist on the classic Korean flavors.

Moreover, I had the opportunity to attend a traditional Korean dance performance, where I was mesmerized by the precision and grace of the dancers. Their intricate movements and colorful costumes were a testament to the country's rich cultural heritage.

As I prepare for this exhibition, I am honored to be a bridge between the USA and South Korea, sharing our cultures through art with my friend and fellow artist, ZiBEZI. She is an exceptional artist, and her work was featured in the film Parasite, which was a worldwide hit and won an Oscar in Hollywood. Brenda Lee, the curator of the LA Art show, brought us together. She is a kind person, and I am thankful for this opportunity to showcase my artwork.

Therefore, I would like to invite you to join us on April 6th, 2023, at the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles, from 6:30 to 9 pm, for the reception. I am excited to share my artwork with you and bring a piece of South Korea's culture to Los Angeles.
